Ridgedale Accessibility

Ridgedale Townhomes is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.

We are continually working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in so doing adhere to the available standards and guidelines as defined by the WCAG 1.0 and Section 508 Amendment to the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. These guidelines help establish a better web experience for those with visual, hearing, and other kinds of impairments. While private parties are under no obligation to adhere to the Section 508 standards, Ridgedale has incorporated these technical requirements and criteria to the greatest extent possible as part of its broader mission of ensuring equal housing opportunities for all individuals. More information on Section 508 and the technical standards can be found at www.section508.gov. The W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 can be found at http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20/.

In addition to features necessary for supporting the Section 508 standards and WCAG 2.0, section headings are used to organize the content and all photos have appropriate alt text. All our content is provided in CSS and HTML5. Portable Document Format (PDF) versions are available for most of our longer documents. One popular viewer for PDF files is Acrobat Reader.

Ridgedale Townhomes encourages use of the 711 dialing code for access to Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS). TRS permits persons with a hearing or speech disability to use the telephone system via a text telephone (TTY) or other device to call persons with or without such disabilities. For more information about the various types of TRS, see the FCC’s consumer guide, or visit the website of the Disability Rights Office (DRO).

We strive to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability but it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website. We are continually seeking out solutions that will bring all areas of the site up to the same level of overall web accessibility. If you have feedback or concerns related to the accessibility of any content on this website, or have ideas or comments that would help us improve the accessibility and usability of our website, please contact us at [email protected] or by phone 865.690.1425. If applicable, please include the web address or URL and the specific problems you have encountered.
